Why would you presume this, it's been common knowledge for as long as I can
remember that the first thing you do when opening the case of a new Buffet
clarinet is throw away the mouthpiece. - OK, that was my attempt at humor.

Roger, I've examined quite a few of these over the years. Most are crap. I
got a mouthpiece with my eefer where I could bend the tip rail over with my
fingernail. Most of these mouthpieces have very poorly formed tip and side
rails. Even if you spend time re-facing the mouthpiece the best you can
expect is mediocre.

I did however keep the mouthpiece that came with my bass clarinet. After a
thorough fe-face and re-voice (done by Elmer Aiello, years ago) it became my
back-up.

It's still the back-up to my back-up. Or maybe the back-up to my .............

Oh well, you get the idea.
