Yes, and I'm b*ggered if I know why. Having played this piece on a copy
of Muehlfeld's instrument, I can assure you that bringing off the
arpeggios in F# minor is a real doddle compared with bringing off the
same passage in F minor. (It's to do with the 'good' C# and F# on that
system that we were talking about in another thread.)

And I think this bit is easier than on the Boehm system too.

I suppose it's possible that he found the Bb instrument more penetrating
against the tremolo strings. It's all I can think of anyway. But I
don't find that myself.
