I am missing about whom you are speaking. Are you
referring to Victor Herbert who wrote a lot of romantic
student prince like operettas?

If I have correctly identified the party about whom
you wrote, it seems to me that simply finding his
style dry and mechanical to your tastes is a poor reason
to boycot his music.
