I think I may have "told" this one already, but it's good for an
occasional retelling for the newbies.

A musician dies and ascends to Heaven. St. Peter greets him and asks
him what he did in the world. "I was principal trumpet with the Detroit
Symphony." "Cool," says St. Peter, "we have a community orchestra here
that plays on Tuesday nights, you're welcome to sit in." So Tuesday
rolls around and the trumpeter shows up. The concertmaster is Paganini,
Berlioz is the tympanist, Cavallini is principal clarinet, etc. The
trumpeter seats himself next to another trumpeter, folds in his wings,
and warms up. Then God comes out carrying a baton.

"How is He as a conductor?" the new musician asks.

"He's not bad at all except when He gets it into His head to be Herbert
Von Karajan."

I would guess a vintage Mercedes-Benz gull-wing with an engine torn out
of a war-surplus Messerschmidt or Stuka:-).
