Sneezy's archive retains my request on 27th September 1995
for information about any possible recording(s) of Kornauth's Clarinet
Quintet
There were no replies.

The parts and score were published by Doblinger in 1943 (written 1931?)
and are still available. It has three movements, with a scherzo embedded
in the slow movement, and lasts about 28 minutes.

By chance news has just reached me that an Italian CD
was issued in 1996. Its number is Nuovo Era 7252
It was recorded by the clarinetist Ciro Scarponi in 1994!
It's a shame that this good quintet lies largely neglected
(together with his many other works!) and a pleasure to
hear or play such a positive, angst-free, romantic piece.
There are no excuses.

The CD also includes the Clarinet Quintet by his teacher
Robert Fuchs.
