This is a reminder of a note Jim Gholson at the University of Memphis sent
a couple weeks ago.

David Shifrin is playing the Mozart Concerto tonight and Saturday night
with the Memphis Symphony at 8:00 in the Eudora Baptist Church (corner of
Popular and Perkins), and again Sunday afternoon at the Germantown
Performing Arts Center, at 2:00(?). He will be presenting a masterclass at
the Univ of Memphis Music Department at 11:00 on Saturday.

This is a long way to say, I drove down and heard the dress rehearsal last
night... My, he played so beautifully. I sat there realizing, again, the
elusive combination of tremendous raw talent and personal sacrifice
(practice) it takes to perform with that depth of musicality and techinical
ease.

Come and enjoy.
