It's interesting that no one has pointed out that plating on the ligature
makes a difference to many players. If silver, nickel, or gold plating on
the same basic ligature makes a difference, with the ligature being outside
the clarinet's air stream, it does seem possible that different plating on
keys might have some effect. I personnally don't think it would, but that's
opinion only. Doug P.
