A while or so ago, I had expressed that brand new tenor saxophones were
not an option and inquired information on the relatively inexpensive Conn
Chu's and Naked Lady's of the first half of the century. For those of you
who responded, thank you greatly; it was very helpful. My father had come
across a private owner selling 'an old Conn,' and your input assured me
that the instrument was not of the calibur I prefer. (Beggars can't be
choosers, but then again, I'm not begging for a tenor sax. We all have
things in our head that we WANT but certainly don't NEED.)

So, in order to continually be aware of possible lemons or possible
priceless giveaways that may be offered, I now inquire about this
instrument in question.

I will not be purchasing it, so bid to your heart's delight (as I said, I
don't need it, so financially, I WON'T BE STUPID!). The item is a 1929
Typewriter model. Having been filled in on the background info of old
Conns and Kings, I would appreciate any info on the quality of Martin,
whom I know very little about. If I recall correctly, I think they were
purchased by Yanigasawa in the 70s or something?

This info would be nice to have, so that when my father emails me saying,
"Hey - I found a Klaus Hergescheimer tenor for sale for only $300 and the
owner says it's one of the good ones from 1971," we can be aware of what
we're REALLY getting.

My address is at the header of the email, if you wish to enlighten me
privately, by all means do so.

Any info on Buescher would be appreciated too - they seem to be the other
sax manufacturer of days of lore that aren't around, yet are still seen
here and there...TIA
