In any non-blind audition, politics always affect the outcome. Sometimes it
is good and goes your way, but just as often, it doesn't. In a blind
audition, it becomes much harder (if not impossible) to tell who is who.
That is why the first round of any orchestral audition in this country is
behind a screen.

If you don't mind me asking, who is your teacher?
