Subj: [kl] rooms of lawyers

I've been "volunteered" to play a short selection for a room full of lawyers
in April. (Spare the jokes, please -- I've heard them all). It's my
osses' bosses' idea of corporate well-being and all sorts of other #=&(%$+*
like that. Since I like having my job, I have to do this.

I work with lawyers a lot....tough audience! What you need to do is to get
them thinking of something lawyerly before you play. How about something
from the "Album for Clarinet and Piano: Percy Grainger: G. Schirmer/Hal
Leonard ED-3866, arranged very well by Terry A. Oxley. You could play
"Country Gardens" and tell them this is where H and W had their altercation
with T who had sold Blackacres out from under them. They could be plotting
T's defense while you play.
