How about the Crussel f-minor concerto? Makes the student sound impressive
and the orchestra parts are quite doable. The only problem with them is
that they are in messy manuscript (at least from Lucks Library). Then there
are always the Weber concertos/concertino. IMO, the concertino is one of the
best concertos we have in our repertoire. It shows everything and it is
short.

Just a couple of suggestions.
