It is a beautiful concerto and not performed anywhere near often enough. I
believe Paul Meyer recorded it (on a disc with the Copland concerto) a few
years ago. If you think it will show off your lyrical, controlled qualities
as a player, who cares what we on the list think. Go for it and play it.
