In his book, "The Clarinet Sonata in Outline," Norman Heim has Vanhall
(or Wanhall), listed second in his Classic period section. The first
composer he has listed with a work called sonata (actually a trio
sonata, clarinet, violin and basso continuo) by Georg Christop
Wagenseil. Its published by Ludwig Doblinger, Vienna, 1977. So, that
the information I have I hope its helpful. The Wanhall works are very
early, one would not be incorrect in saying that they were among the
first sonata written for the clarinet and piano.
