Sorry about that last. My year-old son has a passion for things like my
mouse and my enter key. The message was, at any rate, has anyone
heard from or about the members of the Caracas Clarinet Quartet since
the flooding and related disasters in Venezuela? It would be a relief to
know that they are alive and well . . .

And while most of us are celebrating a happy and prosperous holiday
season, perhaps the Venezuelan catastrophe can give us pause to remember
some of those all-too-many who are not. I wanted to share a website
that I stumbled across and keep in my inbox. It is a simple way that
everyday folks can help feed hungry people:

http://www.thehungersite.com

With a click of the mouse one can donate once a day at no cost to
himself. Sponsors donate food in amounts commensurate to the number of
mouse clicks each day. Anyway, I hope some of you will be interested in
the site. In addition, those of you who run businesses might be
interested in becoming sponsors of the Hunger Site. The website can
tell you how that works.

In the meantime, I hope everyone will have a peaceful and contented
holiday season.

All the best from dark and cozy Reykjavík,

Anne Benassi
