Subject: [kl] Buffet vs Leblanc I'd like to hear some thoughts on the
Leblanc Opus clarinet. I've been playing a Buffet R13 for over 15 years but
was recently impressed by the homogenous sound of the Leblanc. It seems to
respond very easily also. Any thoughts on Buffet vs. Leblanc ?

Yes, very strong thoughts. Try them yourself, and make your choice of what
feels, sounds, works best for you. Both are great instruments. I don't find
it hard, nor much effort to make the Buffet sound "homogenous through out
the registers".
A more fair comparison would be between the R-13 Prestige, and the Opus.
Both are more heavy walled instruments. The Selmer Signature has gotten
very good reviews also. Then there are the other brands. Enough to make ya
crazy!
