Subj: [kl] Cleaning a Leblanc Metal Contrabass

Can anyone offer advice from experience on cleaning the outside of a
metal Lablanc contrabass clarinet? There are smudge-like marks on it
that look like they should easily clean, yet they do not. We have tried
light scrubbing as well as chemical polishing cloths. Nothing has worked.
