As you are still in high school, there are many pieces that IMHO should be
learned before works by Joan Tower, etc. Consider the following:

Clarinet and Orchestra or Piano:

Hindemith Sonata
Poulenc Sonata
Stanford Sonata
Jacobs Mini Concerto
Lutoslawski Dance Preludes
Any of the French "Solo de Concours"--the contest pieces for the Paris
Conservatory which include the Debussy Rhapsodie, the Messenger and the
Rabaud.
etc.

Unaccompanied Clarinet:

Stravinsky Three Pieces
Osborne Rhapsody
etc.

The list is obviously much longer, but you should work this out with your
teacher.
