"TOO MUCH SAX" raises an interesting point. As both a physician and
woodwind repairman, I would be concerned over anything that causes
cerebral hypoxia (too little oxygen to the brain). The problem is more
pronounced when standing since more blood pools in the feet and less
oxygen carrying red blood cells are available to the brain. Fortunately,
even retained air (air we haven't refreshed with oxygen) still has a
pretty good oxygen capacity. As long as there is some type of
respiration and air exchange going on(ei circular, diaphragmatic or
pleuritic) we should be OK. So if you feel faint, sit down and have a
sugar snack (glucose is the fuel the brain needs). Oh yeah, don't forget
to breathe. Mike.
