Dear Christina,
All through middle school the text was Standard of Excellence, and I also
found it to be very boring. Last year the band director decided to try
something different, so we played out of the I Recommend series. This was
all the basics, but pretty boring too. This year my little sis says they are
working out of a book that she says has different levels for different
people, but they can all play together. I don't know if this is true, but if
it is that seems like a good method. Has anyone else heard of a system like
this? The name of the text might be The Makings of a Superior Band, but I'm
not sure.

Merry Christmas!
