I've been playing the E-flat clarinet for almost twenty-five years. In that
time , I have owned three different model clarinets. The first was a Selmer
Paris model that came with an HS* mouthpiece. It was a hard to control horn
and it is what I cut my teeth on for the eefer.

After I figured out what I wanted in an eefer, I selected a Buffet horn.
The only mouthpiece that performed in every respect for me was a Hite
mouthpiece. I liked that Hite so much that I chose Hites for my Bb and A
R-13's.

When I bought my Patricola's the Hites didn't work so well. I was having
articulation problems and pitch problems with the A clarinet. I finally
settled on Greg Smith mouthpieces. They played well on the four new horns
that I bought from Patricola. The two wooden ones have an especially mellow
sound that everyone seems to like (in addition to myself). They look good
too with the rosewood of the clarinets.

Don't turn your nose up on the Hite mouthpiece before you give it a try.
For twenty years, I used them with no complaints.
