R. Garrette's "D" facing measures about 1.19. He actually inscribes it on the
mouthpiece. You can see my tip measurements from my web site. I won't speak
for any others.

Mark, my problem is not with the industry "standards". They are fine. The
problem is quality control. If you have the tools, you can prove it easliy
yourself. If you measure a batch of "stock" mouthpieces, you will find
measurements that deviate all over the place. Some of the facing you will
find are virtually unplayable. Others are fine, but not the "standard" others
are right on.

This is my problem with the B45. This is the last time I'm going to say
anything about this.

Now I am NOT saying that about the 5RV Lyre. The few that I have seen seem to
be adjusted quite well. So flamers, please take note.

Question for you - why do you get the shudders? Trying out equipment is one
(or should be one) of the pleasures of a conference!
