I just got my braces off a few months ago and i noticed the same thing.
After playing for long periods of time, it is SO painful to put The retainer
on at night. Especially since i haven't been wearing it everynight. Its
also uncomfortable for me to play with my retainer. So my advice to Whoever
gets a retainer is to wear it regularly, so you wont have to go through the
pain, or end up with your teething looking like they did back before you got
the braces!
