Yes, and isn't that stupid? I can't see any reason why volume levels have
to be so high at public events. Do they assume that everyone is deaf?

I recently went to a basketball game at which the speakers were so loud
that people in the stands were holding their hands over their ears, going
to the bathroom to get small pieces of toilet tissue to stuff in their
ears, and going through various other contortions to try to ease the pain.
But, if you complain, they likely will turn it up louder.

I have become convinced that most so-called sound technicians are
themselves deaf due to long periods of being subjected to the output of
their own equipment.

This is one of my pet peeves. I'm ready to consign all sound technicians
and their equipment to the lower regions!
