I doubt that your instrument is quite that old as I don't think they were
being made that long ago. What is the serial number? I have one that was
purchased in about 1962. In my opinion, it is an average intermediate
instrument with sharp throat tones and a sharp upper clarion. It might be
worth as much as $250 but I doubt you could get that much on ebay for one.
Probably $175 would be more like it.

Hi all,
I am new to this list and I have no idea what was previously discussed. So
I
have a couple questions and a couple comments.
I am a high school student, age 14 and very proficient in clarinet
playing.
Since our jazz band does not allow clarinetists to join, i double on tenor

sax. I am still a beginner player as i just started playing about a year
and
a half ago.
I am wondering, since i have been playing clarinet for about five years
now,
if any of you guys could recommend websites or stores in upstate ny where
i
could purchase some challenging jazz or big band music arranged
especiallly
for the clarinet.
Second, i have a Selmer Signet Special clarinet circa 1952. It is wooden
and
in mint condition. I play it regularly. i was told an estimate that it is

worth. I would like some second opinions based this info. On estimates i
maen. I'm not looking to sell, i would just like to know for reference.
Lastly, can u guys recommend any good colleges where i could study to go
pro
or to become a music teacher?
