Dear Michael

My name is Rien, pronounced somewhat like "Rheene" in American
transcription, not Rick. But I am used to misnaming in the USA. in 1968 I
worked in Atlanta, and spent my summer holidays of 1969 there. When being
introduced to people as "Rien Stein" ("Rheene Stine", I guess) they
afterwards, and "afterwards" sometimes meant only thirty seconds after,
introduced me to other people as "Rine Stean". The funny thing is, in
England, where I also have spent a large part of my life, I never noticed
this phenomenon! Yet in both countries appoximately the same language is
spoken (as far as know, at least).
