I generally figure out what the piece gives me on a visual basis. It's
like going to a movie and as your watching you hear the background music
but you're not really conscious of it. As you play the solo, play your
story along with it like you're musically narrating. I find i'm done
before I know it and haven't even thought that 100 eyes have been
watching me. Plus, I think it adds more emotion to how you play if what
you are playing means something to you.
