The reed takes a few minutes to warm up. I started playing last
week at band with minimum warmup and it took me about 10 minutes
before I was happy with the sound. Also, you might need a stronger
reed than you normally play on cane. I usually play a softer 4
Vandoren on both bass and soprano and a 4 using the Legere reed. A
quarter strength increase might make the woody sound come out. I
usually play the Legere reeds and band and save my good cane reeds
for lessons.

They take some getting used to from the point ot view they are
consistent every time out. Good luck and remember Guy Legere has a
