I have been reviewing some lists of music
by Canadian composers and would welcome
some guidance, opinions, focus, suggestions...

I am just beginning to see a glimmer of light..
after some 50 works in all, but I cannot find
a clarinet concerto before 1948
(by Robert Comrie Turner born 1920)
The best, that is to say, the most entertaining wind quintets
I have some across so far are by Hetu and
Souris (9 movements in 7 minutes!!)
Violet Archer's Clarinet Sonata seems fine,
but a little too long in the Tranquillo
and Kenins Septet is a thoroughly worthwhile work.
Freedman's Chalumeau for clarinet and string quartet
is on such an exalted plain that I can only sit and listen,
- care of CMC's LP of 1983.
Suffice it to say I think Gary Kulesha's Third Chamber
Concerto and Mysterium Coniunctionis are superb!
