Thanks very much for the very helpful information; greatly appreciated!
In the absence of a manufactured spacer for the Eb and as a temporary
solution, I made my own from either .100" or .032'" sheet cork. Using a
circle template to scribe the approximate outer diameter I cut and
carefully sanded the outer edge until it fitted the barrel. Assembling
the barrel to the body and holding it firmly in place I used a number 11
scalpel blade (very carefully) to cut the inner hole. Addition thickness
can be obtained by adding thinner corking.
