Adam, Yes. Any weight that the wrist isn't accustomed to can cause problems.
It also could be the position of the thumb rest. Put the 3 fingers of the
right hand on the keys without positioning the thumb. Close your eyes and
put the thumb where it wants to go naturally. If it doesn't match with the
thumb rest, move it. Carl
