I have tried converting vinyl to CD, and it can be done, but when I decided
that I wanted to be able to convert my extensive record collection I finally
settled on converting to Minidisc. The process of conversion is the same as
making a tape, but there is a great ease of editing - you can take out or
move one track - and overall it was very easy. If I were to go the CD route
I'd suggest one the the straight copiers. Going through a computer I've
found to be a problem because most soundcards, unless they are really
expensive, are pretty junky and it's the quality of the soundcard that
limits the quality of the sound on the final product.
