I definitely recommend going to Vincent Marinelli. My teacher once took
me to his shop to buy a Moennig barrel, and another one of her students
bought an A clarinet. He is a very nice guy. You and your teacher
should go there and test clarinets. It might be best (save time) for
your teacher to play all the clarinets and cut the selection down to 2
or 3. Then you can try them and pick the best one. This is what my
teacher did with the Moennig barrels.
