My two boxes came in the mail last night from Muncy Winds. In almost a
year of hacking around with the bass, I've played two or three different
strengths of Hemke, Vandoren, Rico Royals, Marca, and Daniel. The GC
Bass 2.5 is more flexible on a jazz mouthpiece, the VD B46, than the
Hemke 1.5. The No. 3--unless I've been using serious drugs--just about
gets rid of the stuffiness of the middle register and the tone produces
easily, top to bottom. Before this the Daniel No. 3, a tenor reed, was
as close to the sound I wanted as I could get on a Pomarico crystal No.
1.

This is an absolutely wonderful piece of work.

Watch...on a high-priced bass, they'll be awful:-).
