Matter of fact yes - I just purchased a 4 bass and 4 soprano
Legere reeds -
instructor had me change mouthpieces earlier in the year and I
just got
around to updating the plastic reeds to match the cane strengths -
must say
delivery has improved tremendously - he gets the check - he mails
the reeds.
These seem to play better than the previous ones and am quite
happy.
The debate is about tone quality of plastic versus cane with my
instructor
and he has good points. The reason I like them is I can practice
without
using up prepared reeds that I use for my lessons. Sometimes
finding 15
minutes a day to work on reeds after opening a new box is
difficult. As an
adult learner, I feel that 15 minutes would be better spent
practicing, and
even that has to go by the boards sometimes.
I use them quite comfortably in the community band. The best part
is that I
know no matter what the weather or tempurature, I have reeds that
play. The
new reeds seem a bit different from the previous ones in texture
and
response, but in an improved way. Is this just me or have other
people found
this?
