I've acquired (funny how that happens!) an old NSk and am _idly_ curious if
it is a Babbitt or other blank. Don't wish to step on proprietary toes or
snoop where I don't belong, though. Thanks to all.

The reamer I designed to produce the NSk bore is not as old as 25 years. I
did not date the reamer but it is probably closer to 15. So the NSk you
acquired would not be as old as you think if it has NSk inscribed by me.
Additionally it should have my signature on the right hand side of the table.

As to blanks, we do not publish our sources. However it is important to
remember that the blanks I have used for 25 plus years have been re-bored by
me with reamers of my own design. In the various Signature models the
inscribed NSk, M, Bc, Pk etc., designates the bore shape I have put in that
mouthpiece. So if a manufacturer of one of the blanks I use supplied that
same blank to someone else it would lack the critical bore dimensions, and
resultant performance characteristics, associated with the Pyne Signature
mouthpiece.
