The step is normal and desireable. Your finger is probably to large to
discover a similar step between your top joint and your barrel. [The barrel
is smaller.] The reasons for these "choke points" has been explained to
me. However, they have varied. I, therefore, hesitate to pass them on.
Perhaps, my betters have a really good explaination.
