I've seen both plastic and rubber mouthpieces which bent up at the tip
from being dropped. It's not common, but it does happen if it is dropped
at an exact angle with a specific amount of pressure. Rico Royal
mouthpieces will sometimes bend if they are thrown hard enough against a
hard surface. Don't ask me why I know this. ;^)
