Derek,

It is not necessary true that silk cleaning cloth is better. Actually cotton
cloth can do a better cleaning job. Just pay attenion not to let the tiny
material of the cloth gets into the springs and the pads.

Plastic clarinet is alright if you are satisfy with the harmony (different
frequency for different material) of it. One of my friends has a Brass clarinet
and it sounds fine, more jazzy like. I myself prefer the wooden one. The prize
are quite differnt depends on the wood. (there are so many kinds of wood to
make a clarinet?) $800 to 1,000. should get you an above average clarinet.
