Ken,

It could be all the harder Marca reeds are out of balance, maybe even in the
same way. Because you're having this problem on all three mouthpieces, it is
probably safe to rule out the mpc as the problem. Another possibility could be a
coincidence time wise with your move to harder reeds. Maybe your instrument has
developed some problems. Check, very carefully, the way the Bb/register
mechanism is working. Also check the regulation between the thumb pad and the
pad under the A key. Problems in this area will make the second register fitful.
