Trill low G. Come up the scale with correct and smoothly executed chromatic
fingerings toward the throat tones, all the while loosening the embouchure.
Cross the break, play chromatically through B, C, and C#. When your fingerings
get to D, start to peal the fingers off the holes, starting at the bottom of the
row, reserving some of the flat pitch of the embouchure until later. By the time
you've peeled off all the the six fingers, you should still be no higher than a
G. At that point, it is your call shot as to how long it will take to get up to
the final, fingered pitch. All of this takes practice, a basically adventurous
nature and a good deal of self confidence. Don't do it with a #5 Vandoren on a
2RV Lyre mpc. Have fun.
