One thought here. The Vandoren mouthpieces re-face nicely. I just re-faced a
B45 88 profile, and it turned out really well. Sold it to a lady on eBay and
she is very happy. I did the tiniest bit of "voicing", not much really, just
a few tricks.

The stuffiness you find in that mouthpiece might be due to a very irregular
facing. It certainly sounds that way if you have to be so picky with your
reeds. Maybe some adjustment by a good mouthpiece technician could clear this
up for you.
