I just discovered Kenny Davern, who plays traditional jazz
(trad). What a great sound! He uses a Vandoren 5JB which he
designed. It's even more open than the B45, with a long lay.
I'll probably be ordering one from the Woodwind and Brasswind
(http://www.wwandbw.com) soon ($55). I've already ordered a
Kenny Davern CD. <G> BTW, for those of you who like this kind of
music, the Bob Brookmeyer album "Traditionalism Revisited" has
recently been reissued on CD. Jimmy Giuffre plays some Very Nice
clarinet on this - a favorite of mine from 1957, and a must have!
