Just so it's understood, since I know I've offered
a lot of commentary on the business aspects of clar-
inet making, and capitalist enterprise in general:
I am not any kind of expert on the subject. I'm an
MBA student who got his clarinet performance degree
first. You pick up the fundamentals of business
theory in about the first three weeks of any core
graduate curriculum (the better ones, anyway), and
it's enough to speak relevantly to the issues that
have come up so far. But it takes genuine experi-
ence -- the more, the better -- to get into the nu-
ances of that particular universe, just like any
other. There a few subtle differences between man-
aging an electronics engineering company and manu-
facturing clarinets, to say the least! I've enjoyed
the dialogues, though. At the same time, I apologize
to those who must surely be thinking, "Sheesh, this
is worse than the marching band thread!"

'Anybody have the phone number for a top-notch
repairman in the Columbus, Ohio area?

-- Neil :)
