I believe that he is now using a Richard Hawkins-faced "Eddie Daniels." It
is also a relatively close mouthpiece. ED can use this setup, however,
because he *always* uses a microphone.
If you want to play early-style jazz (Dixieland revival or equivalent) with
no microphone, you will probably want to do what Bill H suggests -- open and
long. In this particular area, louder IS better. I always found the B-45
to be perfect for this.
