I agree that quality costs more, and will drive down profits. A wise
manufacturer, however, will invest in quality. But he does with with the
anticipation of profit in the future. All business runs on this cost/quality
issue.

In the long run, if a manufacturer doesn't invest in quality, they are
planning on going out of business.

Example: Weren't we all thrilled with 386 PC's. Windows 3.0?

Try to sell that kind of processing now. You can't give away a 386 computer.
