That's actually not the going trend, and more companies
are beginning to recognize the wisdom of concentrating
on their core competencies. The integration craze of the
80's is steadily reversing itself, especially with the
increased utility of information technology. You still
see the mergers & acquisitions, like the crazy one going
on with MCI & Sprint, or Viacom & CBS, but these mergers
won't result in bloated mammoth organizations. Owners are
making sure that sufficient synergies are present before
they get married to another company, and you can be sure
that there are synergies-o-plenty between Boosey and its
various acquisitions.
