I've finished the Franz Berwald Septet for Bb Clarinet, bassoon, French Horn
and string quartet. It is quite a nice piece which I think all of you will
enjoy.
The world premiere MIDI-Karaoke performance of this piece is scheduled
to take place at Amy's Loft in Palos Verdes tomorrow at 3pm PST. I twisted
Amy's arm to play French Horn with me for the premiere, but I'm not holding
my breath. It's always nice to have live players with whom one can talk
in between movements, but people keep cancelling out on me for these world
premieres. Rodney Dangerfield thinks he has problems!

Anyway, the .MUS and MIDI files will be available for your playing pleasure
sometime Saturday.

I have a real treat coming up sometime later this month. In poking around
Case X in the music library at UC Berkeley I came across an 1828 edition
of Jacques Bouffil's Opus 4 duet for Harp or Piano and Clarinet. The keepers
of Case X have given me permission to do a modern edition if I give them
a free copy of the final result and put it on my Web page. Stay tuned!
