<jnohe@-----.edu> Subject: [kl] Plastic Horns I notice that people try to
compare the Yamaha plastic models with the Vitos...correct me if I'm wrong,
but my understanding was that these horns are actually one and the same due
to some partnership between LeBlanc and Yamaha. Yamaha Plastic Clarinet =
Vito clarinet stamped with Yamaha name Vito Saxophone = Yamaha YS-2x series
stamped with Vito name Or is this not the case at all?

The Vito Sax, and the Yamaha YAS-23 Sax are very close, but not identical.
The color of the lacquer is different, the thumb rest is adjustable on the
Yamaha, old style metal on the Vito, and the Mouthpiece on the Vito to me
is total junk - way too open, and thick clunky mouthpiece rails. The great
points like the palm keys being in a superior ergonomic position to
basically all other student saxes are identical. Don't know about the Vito
Clarinet. I like the pads that come with the newer Buffet plastic (brushed)
clarinets, and the neck strap loop on the thumb rest.
