Lelia,

What great coincidences I find reading this list! I measured my
1907 Buffet Albert Bb, which is also a Carl Fischer and IS marked "HP,"
and it's 22 1/4 inches long (my modern Bb is 23 9/16").

[ I hereby abjectly apologize, as a self-proclaimed "scientific-type
person," for not using metric, but the only tape measure handy is in
inches.]

I'm getting ready to send it to Steve Fox, in Toronto (it's already
been to Paris in the past year - it'll be well-travelled if nothing
else), and he says there is a way to make a HP instrument into a LP one,
if you really want to play it with anyone else (I don't).

Hope this gives you enough information to confirm your suspicions.
