It is a bit of s chaos right now in my working chamber (2 by 3 meters, must
be chaos with all that has been crammed into it!), so right now I cannot
find my edition of the Grand Duo, but when I read the question about the
measures 13 and 14 in the third movement, I looked these up, and to my great
astonishment I found the clarinet has to play there ... rests. It must be a
Breitkopf and Haertel or an Edition Peters, from the gren colour. The few
times I heard it played in radio agreed with this edition.

And then I have another question. Yesterday morning the Concertino opus 26
wsa on the radio, played by Anthony Pay, also on this list. He played
together with The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightment, but I could not hear
who had been the conductor. Now some questions to Tony remain:

The first of course is, who was the conductor. I think it was Frans Bruggen,
but I am not sure.

Then I think the tempi in some parts are rather fast. Of course it can be
interpreted as a show-off piece, but even a mediocre amateur like me can
play it. Now of course I know Weber wrote it in three days, but what should
be the right tempi?

Last, and I think the most important question, and I would like to hear the
opinion also of others on this list about it:

After the "con fuoco" that begins in measure 96, in my Br&H edition in
measure 125 a very beautifull "piu lento" follows, till ms 147, where the
meter changes to 6/8. To me this is the heart of the piece, but it is not in
the "Soloist Folio" (Rubank), and I often miss it. Why has this part been
dismissed? Has that to do with the intrpretation as a show-off piece for
virtuoso players?

TIA

Rien
